Last year marked the first edition of Third Window's East Winds Film Festival which was put on in conjunction with CUEAFS, the Coventry University East Asian Film Society. This year's festival is even bigger and better with some fantastic guests flying out to talk to film fans. Slated to appear at East Winds are Miki Satoshi, who has a retrospective event planned for the festival, Herman Yau with two of his latest works, and Tom Yin, who will bring along his latest, Starry Starry Night. The tickets will be cheap, and the guests are fantastic. Check out the full info from Third Window's Adam Torel:
Quite a good lineup, I'd say. I am envious. Check out the link below for more info![East Winds] was a project that I started along with the CUEAFS as a point of raising awareness of Asian cinema within a university campus and town, and focusing on getting a younger generation of people into Asian cinema by letting them host their own film festival. I help out with programming and lend the Third Window name onto it, but the long-term goal is for them to be able to run it completely self-sufficiently, and it's working as this year we've got NISSAN as a sponsor! This year we are taking over the Coventry University campus to screen a wide selection of films from March 2nd-4th, and we've got a fantastic schedule this year. We've got:A Miki Satoshi Retrospective with Miki Satoshi and actress Eri Fuse coming over to do Q&Asscreening 'In the Pool', 'Adrift in Tokyo' and 'Turtles are Surprisingly Fast Swimmers')A Herman Yau retrospective with Herman Yau coming over for Q&A!screening 'Woman Knight of Mirror Lake' and 'True Women for Sale')Mitsuko Delivers - the latest from Yuya Ishii (Sawako Decides)Yellow Sea - Korean blockbuster from the director of 'The Chaser'Starry Starry Night - Taiwan/China co-production'Bloodtraffick' starring Grace Huang, a well-regarded short from Hong KongGood lineup eh!!Also we're going to have cheap ticket prices so it'll be easy for anyone to go

Great line-up! Can vouch for the quality of most of these titles and keen to see MITSUKO DELIVERS! Have a copy of BLOODTRAFFICK right here on my desk - a very promising short from Jenn Thym.
