Any child of the 80's cartoon era can take a trip down to memory lane with Space Stallions, a 2012 Bachelor film project from Denmark-based The Animation Workshop. The retro CG animation is seemingly a mash-up of something between He-Man and Thunder Cats.
Its directed by Thorvaldur S. Gunnarsson, along with Jonatan Brüsch, Ágúst Kristinsson, Arna
Snæbjørnsdottir, Esben J. Jespersen, Touraj Khosravi and Polina Bokhan onboard as part of the production team with the opening theme music by Friðfinnur Oculus Sigurðsson.
As darkness is covering the multiverse, far away in the galaxy of the wild stallion, a spark of hope is born. Guided by the light of Mother Mustang, the Space Stallions must defeat the Demon of darkness, Destructo. You'll find the animated parody and a making-of video embedded below.

Pretty good...but they should done this handdrawn 2D instead, to get that real 80´s retro feel...I think.
Reminds me of BraveStarr....wouldn´t mind a little more space western look...also music is pretty accurate, but I would loooooovvveee some glam metal sounds...like Defenders of the Earth intro.

I guess the songwriting's accurate, but that music's way too synthy/ electro for a cartoon show. It definitely would've been more prog rock.
