ROCKY HORROR Director Resurfaces With ANDY X

by Simon de Bruyn, February 20, 2012 6:55 AM

Every time I see the photo to the left I think, oh wow, that's what Brandon Routh looks like in drag. And then when I remember that it's some other actor dressed as Andy Warhol, I think, hmm I wonder what that Andy X movie will be like...

Well in less than two days we'll find out the answer to one of those musings, when the teaser website for Andy X unveils what it describes as "a 40 minute screen seance with Andy Warhol". Or in layman's terms - a mid-length art film biopic of the late pop artist Andy Warhol.

Even more intriguing is that Andy X is the new film from Jim Sharman, the guy who directed The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and who hasn't made a movie since 1981. Turns out Sharman has been busy in Australia as a successful (and busy) theatre director, but still it's interesting to see someone outranking Terry Malick in terms of rest stops in between films.

I don't know a great deal about Warhol but the oddity of the whole project feels right to me. And just like Fake Brandon Routh above, it's coloured me intrigued enough to check out the project when it comes online later this week.

Check out the teaser and websites below.
