When you're dealing with a media campaign for a franchise as venerable and media-savvy as James Bond every picture is meant to tell a story. The story of the first still released from Sam Mendes directed effort Skyfall was clear enough: Bond is sexy. And the message of the just released second still (above) is equally clear: Bond is gritty.
Yeah, it's just a morsel but it's a pretty good one. I've been a fan of the darker turn producers have given the character since the casting of Daniel Craig and it's good to see that they're establishing that again here right at the outset.
