A bit of news about Hans Petter Moland, the director of festival hit A Somewhat Gentle Man. The Norwegian Film Institute announced this week that they would contribute funds to one of his upcoming projects The Prize Idiot.
The Prize Idiot... is the story of a family father and snowplough entrepreneur in eastern Norway, who provokes a showdown in the local underworld.
Details about the film are slim at this point, Moland has other projects on the go right now, so this film is not scheduled for release until February. 2014. Alas, his last film was such a gem that any news is good news and the brief synopsis, if understood in that same air, subtle dark comedy, it could be one to watch for.
