The latest trailers for director Andrew Stanton's live action directorial debut, John Carter Of Mars, based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs classics, have this scribe cautiously excited.
In this new teaser from Japan, introduced by Mr. Stanton himself, we see a lot more of what makes John Carter "John Carter", and the fears of a George Lucas-like mish-mash of toy commercials disguised as a film are slowly subsiding.
Check it out, and see if you agree.

Interesting. I didn't know they were adding a "dead wife" subplot to his pre-Mars days. I guess that is less time consuming and less abstract than trying to convey the strange mixture of southern gentleman/chivalrous that he is in the book. Also very much hoping they get rid of his "psychic" abilities he acquires when he reaches Mars.
Unless Stanton performed a miracle by giving Taylor Kitsch charisma this movie will bomb harder than Hiroshima.
