[Update 12/17/2012: the contest winners have been notified and their discs are on the way. Thanks so much, everyone for entering!]

Surely, there's someone on your Christmas list who'll want one of these? We've got five copies of the recent 50th anniversary Blu-ray of the multiple Oscar-winning musical West Side Story to give away, and you might recall from my recent review that I was very taken with my first real go-round with the Robert Wise classic:

Yes, it wears its emotions on its sleeves and I suspect that it was probably square to the youth watching it at the time of its release, but damn if this isn't a beautiful movie with beautiful songs, and athletic, exuberant dancing, and wonderful performances by just about everyone involved. Honestly, the beauty of the choreography demands that every modern action director see West Side Story just so they can see how to stage coherent, dynamic, and kinetic events while maintaining the flow of the story.

And the disc is pretty nifty too!

Anyway, we're giving you two ways to win: two copies will be going randomly to two Twitch readers who shoot me an e-mail at cwebb39 (at) hotmail.com with WEST SIDE STORY in the subject line and your name and mailing address in the body. The remaining three will go to three followers of @Twitchfilm on Twitter who retweet this contest with the hashtag #WestSideBlu. You have until Friday night at 11:59 PST to enter, then the whole shebang is closed and the winners will be notified through e-mail/DM.

West Side Story is available on DVD and Blu-ray now.
