We've been on the Astron-6 train for a long time now, and it seems that the guys are finally getting the recognition they deserve. After massively popular openings for their first two features at Fantastic Fest (Manborg) and Toronto After Dark (Father's Day), it looks like they will be getting their first real taste of distribution with the latter film.
Father's Day is exploitation at its finest. The gentlemen over at Astron-6 know their movies, and they know their audience. There are tits, there is blood, and the film feels like it was made in the '80s heyday of this type of slasher/revenge/vigilante film.
Troma is touring the film starting in January and the first batch of dates have been posted. I have to wait for February here in Dallas, but some of you folks will get the film as early as January 18th. Make time!
