The Butcher, The Chef And The Swordsman director Wuershan takes the helm for the sequel to Gordon Chan's action-fantasy Painted Skin. A massive production clocking in at 150 production days, spanning the entire continent - including stints shooting in Mongolia and Tibet - the film is now moving in to post-production, leading to the release of a first poster and promo reel.
The reel itself is made up of concept art, not actual footage, but between that artwork and the return of original leading lady Zhou Xun - Donnie Yen does not return - audiences are assured of plenty of eye candy. Check the reel below.

It's really strange, because Donnie Yen and Betty Sun seemed like the most sequel-ready characters in the 1st film.
I hope they won't pull an "Overheard 2", where the cast returns but in completely different roles.
Zhao Wei returns as well? I'm in!
Also, there is quite some nudity and erotic content in that concept art. The original toyed a bit with that angle but if this will be indicative for the movie there will be eye-candy indeed.
If the film is as striking and as erotic as the artwork, wow.
