Earlier this week Deadline revealed details concerning David Ayer's take on writing the script for the upcoming "Scarface" remake for Universal films.
And before everyone starts yelling BOOO REMAKE, David (pictured here on the left) actually had some intelligent points to make in the article, first and foremost the fact that the previous two versions took place in completely different criminal environments and eras.
The original from 1932 saw Italians taking power in Chicago while the 1983 version saw Cubans taking over Miami. David Ayer also revealed that he does not intend to remake either version but that he wants to put a contemporary spin on the story.
So this makes me curious about which underworld David Ayer DOES intend to show us. Russians in London? Chinese? Raelians?

if they want an interesting scarface story it should be based off a struggling middle class american citizen fed up with the standard of living and out to make his fourtune by any means necessary.
