Does the world really need a new version of The Munsters? Despite all the hours I killed as a child watching reruns of the family of friendly monsters after school I'm tempted to just say a flat "No" simply because while I can think of about a hundred ways for this to go badly wrong I can think of virtually none that it can go right. Making me pause, however, is that the show has been developed by Bryan Fuller, the man behind the sadly underappreciated Pushing Daisies. Fuller's got a little something special to him and I'm curious what he's got planned for this.
But regardless of what I may think, NBC clearly have big hopes as they've just signed on X-Men director Bryan Singer to executive produce the series and direct the pilot. It's been a good long time now since Singer directed anything I actually cared about - his career sliding into mediocrity after a pretty stellar beginning - but by bringing him on NBC are sending a message that they're going to give the new series a fighting chance to survive.

No Fred Gwynne = No Munsters.
And Bryan Singer's name just makes me run screaming even faster.
Is there going to be some subtle homosexual metaphor/theme considering Singer is attached?
