The transition from child star to adult actor is a treacherous enough road to walk without adding in the extra complication of your childhood role being as one of the most iconic and most recognized characters of its time. Moving away from a franchise character into other parts is hard enough as an established adult - look at Sean Connery's post-Bond career for an example of that, it took ages for audiences to accept him as anything else - never mind as a youngster who people have watched grow up on screen.

So well done, Daniel Radcliffe. The former Harry Potter has been very smart about managing his career outside of his signature franchise, establishing himself as a legit actor on the stage and now pushing into more challenging roles post-Potter on the big screen as well.

Based on the classic ghost story, THE WOMAN IN BLACK tells the tale of Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe), a lawyer who is forced to leave his young son and travel to a remote village to attend to the affairs of the recently deceased owner of Eel Marsh House.

Working alone in the old mansion, Kipps begins to uncover the town's tragic and tortured secrets and his fears escalate when he discovers that local children have been dying under mysterious circumstances. When those closest to him become threatened by the vengeful woman in black, Kipps must find a way to break the cycle of terror.

When it was announced that classic UK horror producers Hammer Films was coming back this was the sort of film that people hoped they'd be bringing with them. The first trailer was already quite strong and this new effort is even better. Check it below.
