Pearl Jam have, without a doubt, one of the most rabidly loyal fanbases in all of rock music today. And when one of those fans happens to be Cameron Crowe ... well, then things like Pearl Jam 20 happen.
We ran the trailer for this one a little while back and now Cameron Crowe's official website The Uncool has premiered a clip from the film in which Eddie Vedder and Stone Gossard lay down the basics of what would become Daughter, one of the biggest songs in the band's history. Check it out below.Pearl Jam Twenty chronicles the years leading up to the band's formation, the chaos that ensued soon-after their rise to mega-stardom, their step back from center stage, and the creation of a trusted circle that would surround them-giving way to a work culture that would sustain them. Told in big themes and bold colors with blistering sound, the film is carved from over 1,200 hours of rarely-seen and never-before seen footage spanning the band's career. Pearl Jam Twenty is the definitive portrait of Pearl Jam: part concert film, part intimate insider-hang, part testimonial to the power of music and uncompromising artists.

Rant time. If anyone is a PJ fan they might want to avoid this...
PEARL JAM is lame. Eddie Vedder is fake as hell (nice one Eddie, investing in the condos going up in downtown Seattle as a silent partner, that caused the tearing down of many hallowed musical landmarks that you publicly proclaim to love...you aren't even FROM here dude!...oh and we all know your wife writes over half your shit)
Stone Gossard = rich kid from the nicest part of town. Lived literally in a mansion sized home since birth. That's ok, just don't try to tell me you are a punk rocker with any hardship in your background, especially since I ran around the Mabuhay Gardens and The On Broadway as a kid and helped build the Gilman St project. trustfund-a-farian is what we call 'em round here.
This band is anything BUT alternative. The one thing I will give them is they ARE prolific, and prefer to make music rather than tour 5 years on one album (like the lumbering past their prime METALLICA, who were out for almost TEN YEARS on one album). But the classic output of SOUNDGARDEN walks all over the guts of anything these guys will EVER do.
I will see this to see how many lies are perpetuated and how much good guy propaganda goes down.
I am in the midst of recording with a Seattle legend right now, and know a lot of these dudes. This film is going to be a lot of malarky (like Crowe's last few...) My opinion may be ugly, but it's educated.
