Okay is this a solid Bluray upgrade from the DVD or are we looking at just another disappointing mediocre transfer from MGM? The answer is, they have only marginally improved the quality of the viewing experience here. To be fair, Blood Simple is hardly the kind of film that will ever pop off the screen. But one does get the sense that a lot of detail could be recaptured if someone takes the times someday. The audio will offer a better experience as well, especially in surround. No new supplements but the spoof intro and commentary from the last SE DVD featuring Kenneth Loring of Forever Young films isn't any less funny than it was the first time. It's cheap, it's on Blu and it 's a little bit of an upgrade.
