Facist Kung Fu Superhero Madness In Hilarious Trailer For Portugal's CAPITAO FALCAO!

A little bit Green Hornet, a little bit Buck Rogers, a little bit politically incorrect, Portugal has a new superhero blazing across its television screens with Joao Leitao's Capitao Falcao. Lifting shamelessly from a fistful of sources with a style that is as much tribute as it is parody Capitao Falcao follows the exploits of a fascist superhero and his erstwhile sidekick fighting against the red menace in the Salazar era. Communism will be kicked in the face!

Capitao Falcao looks to hit just the right balance between intentional goofiness and legitimate skill in its first trailer, which you can find below.

This was presented as a surprise short during the opening night of the MOTELx - Lisbon International Horror Film Festival, on 7 September, before «The Troll Hunter». There's a subtitled version on Youtube. I hope they can go ahead with the series!

Do you have a link to the subbed version? I haven't been able to find it ...

Ah, sorry, I could have put the link. Andrewz did it already. They also have it on the production company's site, which is in English: http://www.individeos.com/

As a curiosity: the director co-directed previously a series called "Mundo Catita" (based on the life of a popular underground alternative singer and performer, who tries to run regularly for President) with a guy called Filipe Melo, who produced a zombie short called «I'll See You in My Dreams» (2003), directed by Miguel Ángel Vivas, who directed recently «Kidnapped/Secuestrados» (2010).

Wow. This looks like a TV series.
