In 2007 Paddy Considine tried his hand at directing a short film with Dog Altogether. A few years later he decided to extend that into a full-length feature called Tyrannosaur (fellow Twitch contributor Aaron Krasnov got a chance to see and review the film back in March).

A success at Sundance and soon to play at TIFF, this is looking like one of the year's must sees. To affirm that a new trailer for the film has been released online, courtesy of The Guardian, which you can view below.

Starring the likes of Peter Mullan (My Name Is Joe) and Olivia Colman (UK comedy Peep Show), here is the synopsis:

Joseph (Mullen) is a man plagued by violence and rage that is driving him to self-destruction. As Joseph's life spirals into turmoil, a chance of redemption appears in the form of Hannah (Colman), a Christian charity shop worker. Their relationship develops to reveal that Hannah is hiding a secret of her own which has devastating results on both of their lives.

Have a look at the dramatic trailer below, which showcases some powerful acting by the two leads. Tyrannosaur opens in UK cinemas on October 7th.

I missed this at this year's IFFR (no screener available and all screenings coincided with others) but I spoke with audience members and it was universally loved.

In the end it took 8th place in the audience awards in Rotterdam, scoring a whopping 4.5 out of 5.

Isn't that annoying when you're dying to see a film at a festival and it's sold out/not available?...

Anyway that's great to hear about the Rotterdam awards. The film looks amazing and may I just say as a fellow Scot it's great to see Mullan continue to do well!

Peter Mullen is a great actor and director, NEDS was awesome, and can't wait to see this film....Hope it does well at the box office...

I almost missed this at the Revelation Film Festival in Perth as the first session was cancelled. Thankfully, I caught it second time around. It's as good as everyone is saying. Definitely a must see.
