THE WOMAN IN BLACK is an upcoming horror film that stars Daniel Radcliffe, Ciaran Hinds and Janet McTeer. It is directed by James Watkins (EDEN LAKE, THE DESCENT 2) and the script is adapted from Susan Hill's novel by Jane Goldman, who wrote the screenplay for KICK ASS and X MEN: FIRST CLASS.
Official synopsis: Based on the classic ghost story, THE WOMAN IN BLACK tells the tale of Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe), a lawyer who is forced to leave his young son and travel to a remote village to attend to the affairs of the recently deceased owner of Eel Marsh House.
Working alone in the old mansion, Kipps begins to uncover the town's tragic and tortured secrets and his fears escalate when he discovers that local children have been dying under mysterious circumstances. When those closest to him become threatened by the vengeful woman in black, Kipps must find a way to break the cycle of terror.

nice trailer. the idea has been done so many times, though. but then so have wars.
Why does the girl speak with an American accent?
Wait, that was a dumb question.
I saw the stage play way back when and it's the only time I've ever been truly scared by a piece of live theatre (insert am-dram gag of your choice here). While I thought DESCENT 2 was a bag of crap, I think its biggest problems were in the script rather than the direction, and Goldman has certainly shown she can turn a phrase and construct an executable set piece - so yes, I'm looking forward to this one.
