[UPDATED: We're told the science fiction film slated to go in 2013 is titled Freak Shift. It is backed by Film4 and Rook Films, the same duo responsible for Kill List.]

Ben Wheatley is a busy man. After the back-to-back critical successes of Down Terrace and Kill List Wheatley has lined up a very full dance card for himself with three more films slated to go in short order.

Up first is Sightseers, a comedy scheduled to begin shooting six weeks from now. Alice Lowe and Steve Oram will star in what The Playlist describes as "a dark comedy about a pair of psychotic caravaners". It's the first of two films Wheatley will be doing with Big Talk and Film4 backing him, which means Edgar Wright comes along as an executive producer.

The second Big Talk backed picture - slated to go directly after Sightseers - is I, Macrobane from Wheatley's own script. Nick Frost stars in this one as the titular Macrobane, a man who would really, really like to be a villain but isn't particularly good at it.Michael Smiley, Neil Maskell and Myanna Buring also star while there is one major character left to cast.

After that? A larger budgeted science fiction film. Details are sparse on that one but it looks as though it should go in 2013 and is being made with US backing, though set in the UK.
