I suppose I am a rare breed in that I am an American who read some of the Tintin books as a child. Having a best friend whose father was British and grandmother was French probably helped with having Tintin in my pop culture sights, and even with the grittier likes of Indiana Jones around, the adventures of Herge's roving reporter and his little white dog were still quite appealing to me.
Well today, thanks to Sony Pictures Netherlands we get a brand new image, which is really the first clear look at Tintin and Snowy in the Steven Spielberg directed, Peter Jackson produced The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn. I still can't believe we're getting two Spielberg movies this holiday season (the other being the WWI epic War Horse), and while I'm not sold on the mo-cap approach for ...Tintin..., the possibilities of such an adventure film with the likes of Spielberg, Jackson and co-writers Edgar Wright, Steven Moffat and Joe Cornish has me intrigued.

Ugh... the Frankenstein effect is in full swing here. With all the talent involved I keep hoping this film will be the grand adventure success I was dying to see when I was twelve, but so far I hate the facial designs with a vengeance. Even Snowy looks awful in my opinion.
