Starring Jet Li, Chen Kun, Zhou Xun, Louis Fan Siu-wong, Kwai Lun-mei, Mavis Fan and Li Yu-chun, FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE tells the story of the struggle between a Ming Dynasty general (played by Jet Li) and his rival, a powerful eunuch (played by Chen Kun). Tsui Hark, who also acted as the screenwriter for the film, has emphasised that it is not a remake of his 1992 film NEW DRAGON GATE INN.
Tsui has employed Chuck Comiskey, visual effects supervisor for AVATAR, to handle the 3D special effects. FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE is scheduled for release in December this year.
Embedded below is the teaser trailer.

This is really evoking Tsui Hark of the late 80's - early 90's, which was pretty much his golden age!
Hmm could be promising. The severed arm/sword flying through the air must be pretty sweet in 3D. It sure had me laughing!
If a movie is going to be in 3D, it should have a reason for being so... and a Hark Wuxia in 3D? I'm totally there!
the opening with the guy opening his eyes got me excited!
i love Jet Li and will always love him:)
its a teaser so nothing big to be expected.
And I like the ending teaser, it feels like a classic movie reborn in 2011
Love Tsui Hark, love Jet Li...I just figure we won't get to see this in US theaters in 3-D, so I hope the film plays well in 2-D for a blu-ray release, i.e. there aren't a ton of shots of swords flying at the screen and stuff like that.
Just not feeling it. Must be the audio/video quality in addition to anything resembling information about the movie and the cringe-worthy chyrons. I hope to change my mind come November/December.
