It seems half-baked to only get half the season here. The full run will be fourteen episodes and when that is released will no doubt contain commentaries, the Confidentials, episode prequels, featurettes etc. My initial advice is to wait. But this is relatively inexpensive and for those of us who don't do streaming or bit torrent getting these now means not having to wait. (That's more folks than you imagine fellow geeks). The sound and video quality are another reason to consider treating yourself. This is awesome presentation. Though some have found the BBC approach to HD problematic there's nothing here that will annoy anyone but the most picky technophile.
I resisted Who for a long long time. There was something irritating about starting in the middle of a series that had been around so long. But I'm now officially addicted and plan to carefully pick my way at least through the high-points. Who is for geeks. If you don't know what that sentence means then stay away, especially if you don't care for thought provoking, tongue in cheek one minute deadly serious the next genre stuff. That's the rub. This is the most accessible Who ever but it comes in the midst of a golden age of genre programming. Hopefully it continues to hold it's base and doesn't get lost in the white noise. This series of the show finds Who and his companions in 1960's America battling a forgotten alien invasion.
