[Peter Hall at Movies.com has just confirmed with Paramount that this is not an official poster for Super 8 and is actually fan made. Solid imitation, but still ... we got suckered.]If there be any question remaining as far as what sort of vibe JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg are going for with Super 8, let this permanently put it to rest.
Famed poster artist Drew Struzan - the man behind classic images for The Goonies, Back To The Future, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Ladyhawke and scores of others - has just created a fantastic retro poster for the film in his vintage style.
Struzan was the go-to guy for both Lucasfilm and Amblin Entertainment when both were at their peaks and, as such, is largely responsible for the pitch materials that shaped an entire generation of movie geeks. Which is, evidently, what they're setting out to do again with this one.

someone needs to apologize to Struzan because that poster sucks.
