A year to create five and a half minutes. If you're going to put in that sort of investment then you'd better pray that the results are worth it. And in the case of animated short film Loom by Jan Bitzer, Ilija Brunck and Csaba Letay they absolutely are. Stop and watch it now. It'll be the best five minutes of your day.

A moth being caught in a spiders web. Struggling for an escape, the moths panic movements only result in less chance of survival. What follows is the type of causality everyone's expecting. The spider appears, claims its prey and feeds on it. The way nature works. But it's the point of view that creates an intense relationship between the hunter and its victim. There is much more to explore, much more to feel if one takes the time to really experience the content of a split second.

I love short movies and would dearly love to watch this, except for the fact that I´m arachnophobic. I do, however, want to commend Twitch for pushing all these wonderful short films! You should have a separate column for them or something so they are easier to find.

Absolutely stuning!! I just love the sound design here, the way it flows with the images is simply amazing. 100% my kind of thing, shame it took so long to make, that means we shouldn't be expecting something similar soon.

Thanks for the heads up Todd!

I'm arachnophobic as well so this definitely wasn't an easy watch for me. But wow, what an amazing display of talent. And I second Niels' comments about the sound design.
