Great news out of the Cannes Film Market! Panos Cosmatos' transgressive mind-trip of a sci-fi throwback, Beyond The Black Rainbow has been picked up for U.S. theatrical release by Magnet, and in Canada, where the film was produced, by Mongrel Media.
Cosmatos' debut feature, which recalls sci-fi b-movies and 70s/80s fantasy cinema but is very clearly it's own thing, was one of my favorite films at Tribeca last month for its unbridled vision and enthralling atmosphere, so I for one am quite happy the film will be released soon; and one assumes within the calendar year. Check out the trailer below and my review in related links.

Awesome!
Means its that much closer to a cinema release down under, or at least a dvd/br release.
