Anybody out there know how long after the opening weekend figures for Piranha 3D came in it was before Shark Night 3D was greenlit? Five minutes? Ten?
The fish is bigger. The 3D is hopefully better. And there appear to be fewer breasts by virtue of there being fewer people on screen. But other than that it's essentially the same thing. Girls. Bikinis. Hungry fish with big teeth. Welcome to David Ellis' Shark Night 3D.
The first trailer arrived online earlier today and it certainly appears that all involved understand what audiences want from this sort of thing.

Can't decide if this looks good bad (Piranha) or bad bad (Jaws 3/4). Can do without the 3D as always, but there's certainly room for another decent shark flick. Whether it's this or Meg (if that's ever made), we shall have to see. Most likely neither. Joel David Moore is in this though. He's good.
My major concern is the producers decision to make this a PG13 film. I can feel my enthusiasm for what should have been really fun draining away.
Didn't realise that. That's pretty foolish of them. If they're holding back on the red stuff, then they should go for just being scary. But going by the trailer, that's not the case at all.
not worried about the pg13, this looks like it should be fun... especially with the quality of the bikini shots
