Are you ready for a new vision of the undead? Because Richard Raaphorst is bring exactly that with his upcoming action-horror effort Frankenstein's Army. A well established commercial and music video director in his native Netherlands, Raaphorst is making the move to features with a project that places the technology of a historical Doctor Frankenstein into the hands of a desperate, collapsing Nazi army at the tail end of WWII.
A joint production of Amsterdam based Pellicola with Chicago's MPI / Dark Sky Films, with LA based XYZ Films executive producing, Frankenstein's Army will begin principal photography outside Prague in September. To give a taste of what madness Raaphorst has in store Twitch is proud to premiere the second Frankenstein's Army promo reel, a piece that picks up directly where the first newsreel style promo left off with this one taking us in to the heart of the Nazi lab where soldiers are being assembled.Toward the end of World War II, Russian soldiers pushing into eastern Germany stumble across a secret Nazi lab, one that has unearthed and begun experimenting with the journal of one Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The scientists have used the legendary Frankenstein's work to assemble an army of supersoldiers stitched together from the body parts of their fallen comrades - a desperate Hitler's last ghastly ploy to escape defeat.
