Tintin was an iconic figure of my youth and his Cold War-infused tales of treasure, spies, missing scientists and journeys to far off and mysterious lands captured my imagination in a way only James Bond or Indiana Jones could rival. So the prospect of Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson collaborating on a big screen adaptation was music to my ears. Star power in the form of Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost only added to my enthusiasm, but the caveat to my otherwise untempered excitement has been the decision to realise the project as a performance capture animation. While at times it works, human characters have failed to convince me so far. And so we come to the first teaser trailer for THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN. Yes, it looks epic, exciting, fast-paced and an entertaining realisation of the period and the mood of Herge's comic books, but those characters still don't look quite right to me. See for yourselves below.

I still feel undecided about Tintin, i was never a fan..I'll wait untill the first reviews come in, but i will still check it out anyway, but its not on the top of my list of films to see this year...
So they use a new story not written by Hergé and ditch his iconic, genre-defining artwork style?
Riiiiiiiight...
Not so good.
Speaking of Hergé's signature style: this poster for "De Avonden" comes close to both Tintin artwork and the Tintin poster above:

Ard Vijn, the movie is based on three stories; The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham's Treasure, and Hergé wrote them all. It does though remain to see how they've treated them.
It will be interesting to see how the film does in the states. I'm pretty sure Europe will welcome it.
hahahha masterful events!
two big directors directing and producing this movie
Was that last shot in the teaser the moneyshot that should make people talk about this film? The thing that will make everyone go "Wow, I want to see this"?
Tintin's head??
