Pusher director Nicolas Winding Refn makes an appearance in Cannes this year with his Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan starring effort Drive screening in the main competition. Gosling stars as a stuntman who doubles as a getaway driver in the picture, which Cannes describes like this:

DRIVE is the story of a Hollywood stunt driver by day, a loner by nature who moonlights as a top-notch getaway driver-for-hire in the criminal underworld. He finds himself a target for some of LA's most dangerous men after agreeing to aid the husband of his beautiful neighbor, Irene. When the job goes dangerously awry, the only way he can keep Irene and her son alive is to do what he does best - drive.
A two minute clip from the film has just arrived online to give a taste of the tone. It's solid stuff - as you'd expect from Refn - and quite different in style from his previous few pictures, which is also the sort of thing you'd expect from him. Check the clip below.

Carey Mulligan, not Michelle Williams - but I only knew that from the last Twitch post about this flick heh :) Looks awesome, talk about leaving you wanting more at the end of those two minutes, grr!

Crap. Brain cramp. Not sure where Williams came from.

They're sortof similar - Mulligan kinda looks like someone smooshed together the faces of Michelle Williams and Katie Holmes. Only...a lot more attractive than that sounds lol

Not really a Refn fan, apart from the first Pusher, but this looks really good.
