Bring on the bloody violence.

Twitch has longed hailed the raw, DIY skills of Canada's Astron 6. A collective of young filmmakers originally based in Winnipeg and now increasingly spread across the country as their members move about, the Astron 6 crew began by creating a series of mock trailers for non-existent movies from the 1980's VHS boom. They were rather good at it and people noticed. Things have gotten larger and more complex since then and it only makes sense that they eventually caught the eye of Llloyd Kaufman and Troma, who are backing the group's feature length effort Father's Day.

"Lock up your Father's"
A deranged killer and rapist is on the loose and has a taste for Daddy meat. One man will do any it takes to send the bastard to hell!

We ran an early teaser for this a while back and that's now been followed by a full trailer chock full of ultra low budget ultra violence delivered with typical Astron 6 swagger. Check it below.

Wow... is it just me or that trailer was just too good to be true? The other trailers were just pure exploitation and while great they didn't really show the story that well, from this trailer I can get a lot more of the atmosphere, the pace and the kind of set pieces and possible crazy twists we're getting. Astron 6 is simply one of my favourite "movie people" these days, they were already from the shorts and fake trailers alone, but now with Father's Day they're really making it and this movie looks all sorts of genre greatness, I hope the final product can at least match this trailer, officially more pumped than ever. I so wish Astron 6 could join the Baghead guys and make Demonitron! :D
