The Moon Nazis are coming and they need your help!

Though upcoming scifi comedy Iron Sky is now through principal photography and nearing completion the creators still need your help. The financial model for the film has been dependent on support from fans from the very beginning and that hasn't changed now that they're in post-production. they're in the final stretch now but still need to raise a bit more money to get to the finish line.

And so Iron Sky - among other crowd sourcing platforms - have now also joined Film Interactor, the crowd financing platform that Twitch is a part of along with the good people at Instinctive Film. You want to get the moon Nazis to earth a little sooner? Then throw a few bucks in the hat and help 'em along.

There are more titles coming soon to Interactor as well ... the observant among you may notice the Coming Soon flag attached to an entry for horror anthology Paris, I Kill You in there and there are others in the works as well. Stay tuned!

do you know what is going on Todd?

everyone knew that what the Nazi's did back at the Holocaust was terrible! And it is something people do not want to speak nor remember about. Because of what they did, people resent the Nazis so much.

Now what do we have here? it proves that Nazis still lives inside many of these liars and hypocrites! There's so much moves, and media based about the Nazis. If people hate the Nazis and want to forget about them, why do they keep making movies, media, games out of them?

conspiracy much and Illuminatee much?

Much like the damn Chinese governments.
Everyone wants to forget about the Unit 731 and Rape of Nanking, yet they keep referencing that bulls in their movies and always making Japanese the enemy.

Comedy is a defense mechanism. If they were making a comedy making fun of Auschwitz that would not be cool as it would be disrespectful of the victims, but making a mockery of the movement defangs it going forward. Better to call the Nazis foolish then treat them as powerful or deserving of any respect.

Why on earth would it be a good idea to FORGET the Nazis? Personally I can't wait for the day when China is mature to a level where a comedy can be made about the crimes of communism.

kvarte....
so...it's a good idea to remember evil people: Nazis and forget about the people who died by the hands of the nazis....
typical isn't it?:/

Do YOU know what is going on Xino?
Because if you claim "Iron Sky" was made to promote the Nazis or color them in a nicer historic light, you will come across as pretty unhinged.
Just a fair warning...

Also please provide me with a pointer towards the person who said on this site that it's a good idea to forget about the people who died by the hands of the Nazis (except you yourself in your accusation of course).

I think you got my comments all twisted up:/
no I don't know what is going on...and WTF is really going on!? O_o
you tell me.

I'm not saying this Local Moon Nazi Iron Sky whatever it is, is promoting Nazi. I talking about seeing Nazi's in this 21st century! You see Nazis still talked about and exist in movies and games (hence I said 'media' if you missed that part).

What I'm complaining about is that it is best to forget about the evil and past and move on rather than bring up the past and talk about it all the time!
It's exactly the same sh* with China and their nationalism, majority of Martial Arts you watch are always there promoting that Japanese are evil people and more also "foreigners" are the villains!

Let the freaking pass go man, it's not as if every Japanese are evil. I recently saw a comment from Chinese people about their thoughts on Japan tsunami. And it's really sad to see that many of those Chinese people still hold a deep grudge against the Japanese.

If Nazis are evil, tell me why do I still see them in my movies and games?

Wow, Xino, some screws must be loose in your head. What the Japanese and Nazis did in WW2 is beyond inhuman that it must be never be repeated in history again. Your comments about the grudge against the Japanese not only replies to the Chinese but should included the Koreans and us Americans (attack on Pearl harbor). What the invading Japanese Armies did to the Chinese and Korean peoples(torture, raping, decapitating) and what Nazis did to the Jewish people(Genocide) is just pure evil. What they did is indefensible. And why do see them in the games and movies? Maybe we wants to kill us some Nazis as Lt. Aldo Raine once said.

user-pic

It's called 'history'. They teach it in schools and universities. To forget the past lessons is to endure that we will repeat them.

I get part of what you are saying, that what happened was 60 years ago and the Germans and Japanese have done much to make reparations since then. Yes, part of it is nationalism and racism, especially in the case of the government of China. Projecting the Japanese as the bad guys constantly makes it easier to control their own population and get away with their own crimes. Of course, it doesn't help that there are still right-wing Japanese crackpots spouting 'facts' about Japanese involvement in Asia and paying respect to convicted war criminals in shrines. As long as this crap continues, you won't find the Chinese or Koreans forgetting Japanese WW2 aggression anytime soon.

As for Nazis and anti-semitism, it is STILL a problem today. For the first time in decades, a far-right political group with neo-nazi ties have representatives in German parliament. The skinhead movements have been gaining strength in the past few decades in Europe, despite official scrutiny.

So, NO. It is not 'all in the past', as you claim. I'm not saying it is fair to accuse modern Germans and Japanese of what their forefathers did. It's not, and I doubt this is the intention of most films which prominenetly feature Nazis or WW2 Japanese troops. I'm saying the shadow of what happened 60 years ago has not been entirely lifted even today.

And finally, this is a freaking sci-fi movie. They can talk about whatever they want. Why aren't you whining about Westerns and other war movies set in the past?

user-pic

Ok I think both of you or many of you really need to LEARN to read! You all seem to be getting my comments twisted up and I'm sure many of you did not even finish reading all sentence and prepared your gun because of the first sentence you saw in my post.
-
I'm not complaining about history or what so ever! I'm complaining about the need to forget the evil ones!
-
@Hocus so what the Japanese did to your people and other people was inhumane as anyone would agree. So because they did that you feel that you still hold a grudge against them? Why don't you become a suicide bomber and go bomb up some innocent Japanese, perhaps that would make you fee better. Remember that what you do unto others will be done onto you. If you feel that you can judge every Japanese right now, you will be judged in the end.
-
-
I mean people need to let go the past man and stop having a grudge, if you are stuck in the past you would never move on, and you will become more terrible and heartless. I'm not saying forget the holocaust, Nangki, or Changi. I'm just saying remember the incident, forget the past and don't hold a grudge.

@Agent Wax
exactly what western and other war movies set in the past are you talking about? You don't have those past movies depicting that a country or another country is the main enemy and promoting nationalism.
-
-
I really don't know why you two are commenting is either you are defending the Nazis showcasing on media or you just want to waste time on the internet.
-
Just because I'm commenting on this article doesn't mean I have a problem with this movie Nazi iron Sky. I simply have a problem with all the nazi sh* I've been seeing so far in todays 21s century.

Please learn to read or you are simply making yourself look like an ass.

Now I understand what you are saying. Maybe if you bothered to proofread your comments and actually use proper grammar in your original post, perhaps you wouldn't have so many people misconstruing your post. Pushing the blame on other people shows just how much class you have, though. And for the record, you specifically said in your previous comments to 'forget the past', which no doubt is what many people object to. You did NOT say 'remember the past but make your peace with it' until later on.

What other war movies and westerns? You mean the American-made Vietnam war films that depict Vietnamese people as evil? Or perhaps films about evil muslims attacking heroic, kind, American soldiers? Thankfully, there do not appear to be any more westerns made which depict Native Americans in a bad light, though there certainly are very few that show them in a good light in the first place. And frankly, the people involved in making the film have every right to make whatever film they want. Sure, you have the right to complain, but they can still make whatever film they want. Chinese nationalism and revisionism is an ever-increasing threat, but it seems nobody dares to offend China these days.

The points I gave in my previous post easily illustrates that Nazism is NOT entirely a thing of the past, and hence your entire argument that it should be 'forgotten' does not hold water. Same thing with Japanese right-wing nationalism. 'Forgetting' them will only ensure that the revisionists have their way. Continuing to depict Nazis as villains in media ensures that Nazis remain in the global social consciousness, and as long as people remember what they stood for, their misdeeds will less likely be hijacked or rewritten. But, hey, go ahead. Ignore these points and accuse me of misreading your intention and twisting your words since that makes you feel better.
