The wait for Lars Von Trier's end of the world melodrama is nearly over. With a May release for his Melancholia in Denmark following hard on the heels of an appearance in Cannes the first trailer for the film has arrived online.
Though Von Trier has worked hard to keep specific plot details hidden what is known so far is that it revolves around a family coping with the impending end of the world, an end brought on by the sudden appearance of a hidden planet that has emerged on a collision course with the Earth.
Kirsten Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kiefer Sutherland, Charlotte Rampling, John Hurt, Alexander Skarsgard and Udo Kier star.

Despite the head-scratch-inducing presence of Kirsten Dunst, this looks promising to me.
