Another day, another collaboration between star Tak Sakaguchi and director Yudai Yamaguchi.

These two have been working together for years now, the pair both coming to international attention with Versus - which Sakaguchi starred in and Yamaguchi produced - before moving on to projects like Battlefield Baseball and Cromartie High together. Heck, just yesterday we brought you the official trailer for Yakuza Weapon, the Sushi Typhoon backed title co-directed by the pair with Sakaguchi in the lead.

And because one just isn't enough Sushi Typhoon have actually got TWO Sakaguchi / Yamaguchi projects on the go right now, with the second being the Yamaguchi directed Dead Ball. Nobody is saying how, exactly, this one connects to the duo's previous ultraviolent Battlefield Baseball but it clearly exists in a very similar universe, if not the same one. This is a full on, ultra gory, sports combat movie of the 'no idea is too crazy' variety. Including combat baseball Nazis. They're in there.

When he was a child, baseball prodigy Jubei Yakyu (Tak Sakaguchi) accidentally caused the death of his father with a super-powered, deadly fireball pitch. Having sworn off the game for life because of the incident, Jubei is now 17 and the most cold-blooded juvenile delinquent in Japan. Sent to a reformatory for a killing spree, Jubei learns that his estranged brother had died there earlier from a mysterious illness. In order to fulfill his brother's last wishes, Jubei reluctantly joins the prison baseball team when they take on the Black Dahlias, a sexy squad of killer high school girls who are determined to slaughter every last man on Jubei's team! But the prison officials have plans of their own for Jubei, including an alliance with a squadron of uniformed Nazi officers! Suddenly, Jubei finds himself not only fighting to win the game, but also to save his own life!

You doubt? We're proud to premiere the first trailer for Dead Ball here on Twitch and you can find the aforementioned sporty Germans below.

Battlefield Baseball holds a special place in my heart and it just exploded after I saw this. I can't wait.

That title font is the same as EVIL DEAD....just an observation.

oh man :/ shameful blood effects, every gore scene in this trailer was cgi, no wonder they're doing one a month of these movies, they don't even have to wash the outfits as the blood is a poorly done cgi red splat... Machine girl was great, tokyo gore police was very good, but then it all went downhil from there... where are the practical effects? so if I don't absolutely dig the pure wacky factor of these movies I have to endure the ridiculously poor effects? damn, ninja vs alien was one big disappointment, and every other genre flick from japan seems to follow the trend now... going for crazy just for the sake of being crazy, who cares about actually creating some effects and putting some effort? blah just create a monster made of rubber dildos and people will go HAHAHA awesome!!! just cause the monster is there, damn...
