It features arguably the greatest Jedi ever put on film. It also features what is clearly the greatest Sith Lord ever put on film. And it's got Natalie Portman for eye candy. And yet it's still horrible. And, in many eyes, it's about to become moreso:

The 3D version of Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace hits screens February 10th, 2012 with subsequent films in the series also being converted and released one per year every year following. I doubt enough people really care about this film to really gripe about this one but I expect the griping once the conversion process catches up to the original trilogy to reach epic levels. Ready? Go!

Oi! This film is .... TWELVE ... years old now.

This just occurred to me. That is all.

The speed with which the last decade went amazes me too. Expect a lot of people going "Damn" come the next eleventh of September...

One a year starting in 2012?

Someone's optimistic about the future of the 3D movie gimmick.

Well unless they change the dialogue and edit out Jar Jar then this is a total waste of time.

I'm a similar age to Simon Pegg, and like him was full of anticipation to see TPM, even going as far as New York to see it.... pffffsssst... what a total deflating experience, in one fell swoop I realised I was getting too old for this bollox, sat in a theatre with saddo's dressed up as star was
wars characters, like a reverse out of body experience.
I gave up after that, I don't even think I've sat thru the rest of the trilogy, even when on tv.
It's just really sad how a once great franchise is being milked of all it's magic and rammed down the publics throat, again and again.
Fuckin' Jar Jar Binks, WTF?!! I still can't get over it 12 years later.......
Awful, awful film.
