by J Hurtado, February 18, 2011 3:49 PM

Cine Asia hasn't gotten much notice on these pages, but I've got a bunch of their releases and they deserve some attention.  In addition to being the first western home video label to release a lot of Asian films, like Ip Man, on Blu-ray/DVD, they are also one of the best.  Their latest announcement is the upcoming release of the Korean fantasy film, Woochi: The Demon Slayer (also know as Woochi: The Taoist Wizard, among other translations).  Woochi is due to hit UK shelves on April 25th on DVD and Blu-ray, details are below:
THERE EXISTS A WORLD LOCKED AWAY FROM OURS, WHERE THE KINGDOMS OF LIGHT AND DARKNESS BATTLE TO CONTROL UNIMAGINABLE POWER.

Kings and wizards would sacrifice everything to possess its secrets. But when dark forces cross over from their world to ours, a great warrior will travel through time to fight for the future of all mankind...

so far with all the Korean martial arts movies I've seen, I've never been impressed by them and heavily found them boring.

This movie looks sort of promising and not at the same time. I like the explosions and all as it feels like a hollywoord big budget movie.

I'm not fund with the fighting as it looks more like supernatural powers used most of the time.

I will give it a go but it's not something I would anticipate to watch.

It seems unnecessarily complicated, but otherwise looks fun to me. Most of the criticisms I've seen are targeted at its length, that it is too long. However, that is the case in most Korean films these days. I like Korean action for the most part, so I'm in for this one.

The complications are definitely worth it. It takes a while to get going but once it finds its groove it's a lot of fun.
