As you may recall back in 2007, Warner Bros announced plans to move ahead on rebooting the 80's cartoon series Thundercats into a live action adaptation with Jerry O'Flaherty, the art director of the bestselling video games, Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 3, helming the project. Since then, there hasn't been any shred of news-update except some leaked concept art via Movieline in 2009.
Well, newsflash everybody!
Flixclusive recently received an anonymous tip to supposedly the test footage of the Thundercats movie with Lion-O battling Slithe and it seems legit considering the character designs of Lion-O as shown in the video is consistent with the concept art (see pic left of this post). On how far along the production is when this footage was first produced or whats the current status is anybody's guess. I wouldn't be surprise if its stuck in developmental hell. If that's the case, atleast we got some semblance of what could have been. So what do you think? Does it look cool or lame?
You'll find the test footage embedded below.

Lame, for me..
Uber-lame
If this is WB how come Lion-O seems to have a permanent 'Dreamworks Face' on for this entire clip?
This footage is stupid and a half. Lion-O looks like an avatar-esque clump of jumping diarrhea. I am tired of my entire childhood being remade by major media outlets. Just another cinematic product for mass consumption.
lol...that was AMAZING!
Wow!:)
but i don't like Lion-O protray:/
Lame on what terms ? Not character wise i guess. Cause Lion'O seems quite true to the original concept, as he was also a boy in a grown up body in it. I don't think this was that lame. I liked the cgi quality.
Decent CGI but the whole clip was lame sauce. Maybe it's too playful and not dark enough but then I don't remember how the cartoons played out, I only remember the bad ass opening sequence.
I would prefer it dark ... this looks intended for dumb kids ....
