Third Window Films Acquires UK Rights to COLD FISH

by J Hurtado, December 5, 2010 10:12 AM

Sion Sono's latest film, Cold Fish, has been getting a lot of great press from us here at Twitch and other indie news sites.  Third Window Films has a history with Sono after having handled the theatrical and home video releases of Love Exposure in the UK, the first English friendly home video release in the world.  Continuing that relationship, they have announced first and exclusively to Twitch that they've acquired the theatrical and home video rights to Cold Fish in the UK. This will, again, be the first English friendly version of the film available in the world.  Here is the official word from Third Window's Adam Torel:
Third Window Films are pleased to announce the acquisition of Sion Sono's 'Cold Fish'.

After the masterpiece of 'Love Exposure', Sono is back with another film 'based on real events' in which a mild-mannered man's life is darkly turned on its head after unexpectedly becoming entwined with an insane serial killer.

Third Window Films will release 'Cold Fish' theatrically in the UK in May 2011 with the DVD/Bluray out in July 2011.
Third Window Films are building quite a library for themselves, Sono's work fits in neatly with the other films in their collection.  In fact, Third Window Films' carefully curated collection is the next focus of my Video Home Invasion column and I'm really looking forward to it!  I've been getting some great inside info not only on Third Window, but also on the independent home video business in general.  Look for that to begin in the next few days, some great info, reviews of some of their releases, and yes, some kick ass giveaways are on the to-do list!

Hey J, in the interest of sharing the love, Madman have distributed an English friendly Love Exposure in Australia, just 2 months after Third Window, of course I couldn't wait for Madman!
