Space Nazis are closer than ever! 'Iron Sky' began shooting today!

by Andrew Mack, November 17, 2010 10:34 PM

Well there you have it. Finally! Iron Sky officially began shooting today in Frankfurt, Germany. There director Timo Vuorensola and his team will shoot for four weeks before heading down to Australia to continue production. Video from the first day of shooting is embedded after the break.

This has been a long time coming and we are very happy for the Iron Sky crew to see this day finally arrive. They've also introduced something new for fans and supporters, Iron Sky Sneak Peek

Iron Sky Sneak Peek is service we have set up for producers, financiers and supporters of Iron Sky. We will publish new material on a monthly basis, following the progress of the movie from the idea to script, storyboards, animatics and so on. You can become a supporter and gain access to the first few minutes of Iron Sky.

Follow the link below! They estimate that these first few minutes of Iron Sky will be completed in about a year. So we're still a long ways away from getting a complete film but goshdarnit we've waited this long. What's another year or so?

I'm just going to assume this doesn't mean IRON SKY will be completed in 45-60 years (depending on length and technological advances during production), but rather that the few minutes we see here are part of a film which will be completed in about a year.
