On the negative side of the equation, Jennifer Lynch's Hisss has had to withdraw at the last minute from its planned premiere at the Montreal Festival Du Nouveau Cinema. Given that this was the opening film of the edgy Temps 0 program that leaves a significant hole.
On the positive side, Commander Arne Treholt and his squad of Norwegian Ninja are on hand to fill the gap. This will mark the Canadian premiere of the satiric action comedy with screenings slated for October 14th and 15th. The October 14th screening will be preceded by the Canadian Premiere of Jonathan (Tarnation) Caouette's All Flowers In Time. Norwegian Ninja just picked up awards for Best Director and Best Actor in the prestigious Next Wave competition at Fantastic Fest, so you know you're in for a good time.

Aw, bummer! I'm still trying to straighten out the release schedule for HISSS, my local theaters don't show it on their schedule, and it appears it may not make a day and date release in the West. No confirmation on that, though. I wonder if it pulled out of GSIFF, too.
