Most of us thought it was a bad idea from the get go. How could you take a much loved and revered Japanese cult film like Battle Royale, infamous for all the right reasons, and then adapt it for the current 3D trend? Even in the technology's relative infancy we have seen that going in afterwards and doing the 3D in post doesn't really work a lot of the time. Unless it was filmed using 3D technology you're never going to get true 3D effect. You have to do better than making the freaking logo 3D!
This has almost become a Japanese cult film fans Lucasfilm, hasn't it? Take something that we cherish and love and digitally screw around with it so you can make more money!
I digress. Both the teaser and trailer are after the break. The trailer gives you at least a hint as to what they're going to do with the film to make it 3D. Bleh.

I'd still go see it. I never got a chance to see it on the big screen, and it would be loads of fun!
My knee-jerk reaction is to say "what the f*uck?", but Major makes a good point. I'd take any opportunity to see BR on the big screen.
If this helps it get a theatrical release in the U.S. I'm all for it. If not, then yeah, bleh...
The hell with 3D post conversion, that new transfer looks amazing. Shame about the COMIN AT YA! CGI bullets and blood.
Looks awesome and I detest 3D but this one for some reason looks, at least in the trailer, that fits smoothly
