Jennifer Lynch's Hisss is finally nearing its release date in India on October 22nd, and the publicity juggernaut keeps on moving. This time it is Robert Kurtzman's Precinct 13 SFX lab doing some of the heavy lifting.
We've mentioned in a couple of our numerous posts on Hisss that it is truly an international effort. We know that Kurtzman is supervising the effort on the effects side. The film also features musical contributions from rocker Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver, Danzig, and Mike Muir of Suicidal Tendencies fame) and Julian Lennon, son of John, as well as Indian film scion Shruti Hassan, daughter of Kamal Hassan and up and comer in the Indian film business, herself. In addition, star Mallika Sherawat contributes her vocals for the first time in a song with a Holi theme.
Kurtzman has a nifty little web video series detailing some of his effects work and giving a behind the scenes look at the jobs he does. His latest episode was uploaded on Friday the 15th and features Hisss in what should be a multi-part series. It is cool stuff, though nothing terribly new for those of us who trawled through the extra features of our Evil Dead 2 DVDs enough times. It is still fun to watch.
