Yesterday Phantasm and Bubba Ho-Tep director Don Coscarelli joined Twitter. And today he tweeted simply: "Pre-production begins."
The question is, pre-production begins on what? And on that issue he aint saying. There have been ongoing rumblings of a new Phantasm movie, which seems the most likely option. Bubba Nosferatu stories continue swirling around. Earlier this year I was told by someone close to the man that he planned to shoot something unrelated to either franchise and there were reports a couple years back that he had picked up rights to adapt David Wong's novel John Dies At The End, so perhaps it's that?
The only hint he's giving came moments after the pre-production tweet which he followed with a note saying "Most ride in a hearse only once. Some are luckier." Let the speculation begin.
