Good news for anxious fans of director Chris Smith and / or star Sean Bean. Word hit yesterday that Magnet Releasing have taken North American rights to Smith's medieval action / horror picture Black Death in which Sean Bean plays a church knight charged with hunting down and killing heretics. Oh, and the plague is at its height, too. It's an unusual beast, this one, one that straddles the line between action and horror without fitting neatly into either category but it's also quite good and very much belongs on the big screen, where Magnet promises to put it in early 2011.
