It's been a while since The Simpsons was The Simpsons in any meaningful way. A while since the writing started leaning too much towards guest voice of the week and not enough towards poking the audience with a sharp (and very funny) stick. But with one move yesterday The Simpsons reminded us how they became one of the longest running and most respected television shows of all times.
