As good a movie as I think Gareth Edwards Monsters is - which is very good indeed - my one lingering concern for it is how it is presented to audiences. You see, the film is a character based road movie more than anything else and the title, though accurate enough, seems to promise something tonally quite different than what the film delivers. Likewise, the frequent District 9 comparisons - apt in that they're both science fiction films directed by effects wizards who created big worlds on small budgets - promise a degree of action that is simply not present.
So I was rather glad to see this clip pop up over at io9. This bit is much more typical of how the film feels so if this does it for you then you're in luck. Check it out.
