While it's not the first time that acclaimed animation house Studio 4C have stepped into the world of gaming, Catherine may be the most impressive to look at. From gaming outfit Atlus - the creators of the Persona series - Catherine is a mystery RPG for the XBox 360 and PS3 platforms. The trailer is just gorgeous, featuring some incredibly high end animation work that, while not quite NSFW, is definitely not intended for children. Check it below.

I thought Persona 3 & 4 were great so I'm very excited for this to come out. Hopefully the risque content won't prevent it from getting a North American release.
Sorry, but those wobbly meat-puppets of the real-time cutscenes look horrid. Wouldn't they have been better to invest in giving real solidity and finesse to what the player is going to be looking at for the majority of the time, rather than hiring another studio to create FMVs that show up their own inadequacies? If the intention was to define between the waking and dream worlds it might make some sense but there appear to be real-time day sequences as well, and they're the worst. Now there may be a reason, whether narrative, artistic or practical for defining amongst those as well; I don't want to make too many assumptions from a trailer, knowing how unrepresentative they can be. But those cuts still look terribly off-putting to me, intended or not.
I'm not a gamer, so excuse the ignorant comment, but every time I watch modern game trailers, I almost always find myself asking, "Wait, what part of that was the game?"
Studio 4C = boundary pushing extremely high quality animation!!
