Natalie Portman. Mila Kunis. Vincent Cassel. All three feature very large in the trailer for Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan, the ballet-set thriller from the director of The Wrestler, The Fountain and Requiem For A Dream that will be opening Venice before moving on to the Toronto International Film Festival.
It's getting to the point now where a new Aronofsky trailer is an event, the director having so many shadings to his style - all of them distinctly his own - that what the blend will be on any particular project is always a treat to see. The visual angle on this one appears closest to his Wrestler naturalism at first and then all the weird stuff happens ...
It's only at Apple for now, so get on over there.

Oh the black feathers.
I see them coming.
The Portman seems to have real acting abilities here.
This was always my most anticipated film of the year for me, and that trailer was AMAZING!! It looks as good as I had hoped. Finally it looks as though Natalie Portman has taken on a good and dark role worthy of her talents. I can not wait to see this film!
wow. what moody sounds. she's a mutant! and yes, he seems to even have gotten some real acting out of the portman. kunis is perfect as the seductress, cassell is always a bonus.
It pains me to say this, since I used to be a die hard fan of Aronofsky but... that just doesn't look good. Is she literally turning into a swan? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. That could be okay for some J-pop mutant girl kaiju movie, but it's just too comical to be taken seriously. If anyone can make me afraid of a swan mutant it's Aronofsky, I guess.
Cannot wait for THIS. Some Cronenberg shit going on in the end, there.
I ..just don't know. Not exactly feeling it.
What the hell? Aronofsky made a GIALLO?
I almost get the impression that this is "Perfect Blue" made as a live-action film.
