If you don't follow the source manga or previous anime adaptation of Gantz I doubt you're going to have any clue what's actually happening here - I know I don't - but with the Japanese film industry increasingly cluttered with cheap productions that look like low grade television this one at least looks nicely epic. Not grandly epic by any means, but nicely so. The kid's dig it.

To be honest Todd, this doesn't look even half as good as the anime. Also if it gets a PG rating it's gonna be a shame...

The manga was awful, the anime was even more terrible and this looks so sad.

I liked the first season of the anime because it was humours and mature, then after that it became dumb, retarded, childish and ridiculous!

Gantz is the type of story that could be highly improved on the big screen...that is if they do have a good script. The manga has a good premise, and drives it fairly well at the beginning, then it just confuses itself and goes full fanservice mode for the most part. Heck, if the movie is a senseless blood bath like the manga i won't mind, as long as it is fun to watch. Get the guy who directed Riki-Oh to make a real Gantz movie.
Seems like the official trailer is a downgrade of the snippets they've been showing at Cannes. Btw, the official website where the clip originated from stated that the trailer was done without CG effects at all since it's still in editing. They should have waited before releasing this I suppose.
