Legendary genre director Joe Dante's full blown return is imminent,
which is reason to rejoice. The man behind classics such as Piranha, The
Howling, and Gremlins, has a new film completed and it looks like a Hole lot of freaky fearsome fun!
The Hole is a tale of three kids who find a trap door to a bottomless pit in the floor of their house. Quicker than you can say "Pandora's Box" these unwitting young ones unleash nefarious mysterious forces after unlocking the mysterious portal. This looks like a ton o' fun, and a return to form for one of the masters of the genre. Hearkening back to his young adult oriented films like Explorers and the aforementioned Gremlins, the trailer has me doing a bit of a pee-pee dance. How long the wait until release is unknown, as no US distro is set. Hopefully it won't be long, and hopefully it indeed receives a proper release so it can be seen as intended, in 3D.
