So, this whole collapse of MGM thing is working out okay for Daniel Craig. While other panic about the future of The Hobbit and James Bond films, Bond himself has been going out and racking up a string of other high profile gigs. First came the lead in Cowboys And Aliens for Jon Favreau an d now word is out that Daniel Craig has taken the lead role in David Fincher's US adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Having Craig play the Mikael Blomkvist role should put down any worries that Fincher is simply planning to regurgitate the Swedish adaptation of the novel - as if Fincher would ever be content to mimic anybody else - as Craig and Swedish star Michael Nyqvist are very different actors but, given that this is a trilogy, the casting has sparked concerns that taking these films on may signal that Craig is leaving the Bond role. Time will tell, I suppose ...

This just gets worse and worse. Blomkvist is a middle-aged journalist, not a neanderthal who pretends to be a suave, sex-symbol. So who is Fincher casting next? Diora Baird as Lisbeth?

The only problem I have with Craig in this role is that he is maybe a bit too fit-looking, but a pasta diet can remedy that quickly enough (it worked wonders for me, grrrr....).

As for who is going to be Salander, c'mon Agent Wax! The rumors so far are wayyyy funnier....
To add to that, face it, it's going to be Chloe Moretz because of her star status after "Kick-Ass" and "Let Me In".
(ducks and runs...)
