Rejoice: The BluRay of Kells is coming!

It's definitely no secret that we're big fans of "Brendan and the Secret of Kells", the stunning animated film by Tomm Moore which was the big surprise during this year's Academy Award nominations. "Kells" didn't win but being a nominee sure gave it some much-needed press attention, probably resulting in the BluRay release we're about to get.

That's right, from October the 5th onward "Brendan and the Secret of Kells" could be yours in high definition, courtesy of New Video Group releases.

There have been some releases spotted all over the world on DVD and BluRay, in varying languages (or lack thereof as the French releases ditched the English soundtrack) but this is the first BluRay I know of with the original soundtrack intact.

And all we can say is: Yum Yum!

There's also a UK cinema release – very limited and unaccountably digital-only despite the prints that must exist from just over in Ireland – that I don't think has been mentioned here, opening dates (which have mostly passed but there may be some still screening it) at the official UK page: http://www.thesecretofkells-movie.co.uk

Also a UK Blu-ray Disc coming 1 November or thereabouts; I'll see how the extras compare to the already out US one.
